Overcoming obstacles and facing bitter moments numerous times, the young girl graduated as the top student from UIT

Confidence, a thirst for learning, and a passionate spirit are the qualities that people can feel when they first encounter the young girl Gia Tran. After four years of relentless effort, Tran Gia Tran (2001) graduated with honors as the top student in the field of Electronic Commerce at the VNU-HCM University of Information Technology.

Don't hesitate to ask questions

With a love for and a desire to explore fields related to commerce, Gia Tran coincidentally learned about the Electronic Commerce program at the VNU-HCM University of Information Technology. Initially unfamiliar and without a clear vision of the field, Tran gradually developed a fondness and curiosity for this area of study. Gia Tran shares, "I like economics but don't want to work solely with numbers; I want to integrate technology into it. Perhaps part of it is because I was exposed to Computer Science from a young age and learned to use computers early on, so I developed a general interest in information technology. Therefore, I decided to choose the E-Commerce program."

The learning environment plays a crucial role in absorbing knowledge and honing skills for students. Understanding this, Gia Tran thoroughly researched and considered before choosing the university where she would spend four years of her undergraduate studies. Talking about why she chose UIT, the young girl said, "I think getting into UIT is fate and the greatest luck for me. I researched the university extensively, especially the curriculum of the E- Commerce program. The achievements, the teaching staff, and even the campus itself fascinated me. So, I decided to choose UIT as the place to fulfill my dreams."

Confusion and communication hesitation were challenges for the young girl when stepping into the university environment. Beyond the academic environment, activities and group work were entirely different from high school, leading Gia Tran to experience bitterness numerous times. Initially, Gia Tran couldn't catch up with how teachers conveyed knowledge in class, and she was hesitant to ask questions, which made her anxious and lose direction in her studies.

However, these obstacles did not last long; Gia Tran gradually devised solutions. Self-study, time management, overcoming communication fears, and actively connecting with others are what the 2001-born student deems crucial. "I realized that the ability to self-study and know how to manage time is essential. This will help balance academic work and personal activities. Above all, I always maintain a positive attitude and don't hesitate to ask questions or communicate to expand my network. Thanks to that, I found a group of like-minded friends to accompany me throughout the four years," shared the top student.

Always strive and believe in what you are doing

For Gia Tran, diligence, effort in studies, and in-depth understanding of the subject are the secrets to quickly absorbing knowledge. The young girl emphasizes the importance of being proactive in studying because the university environment is not where anyone can be "handheld"; one must be self-motivated to achieve good results. Gia Tran says, "I will take notes on important knowledge, the additional parts that teachers discuss beyond the textbooks, and complete the assigned exercises to apply the learned concepts effectively. For subjects with too much material, I will synthesize and link them together for easier review later. In particular, I will actively participate in group study with other friends to support each other when I forget or am unsure about certain knowledge."Gia Tran at the graduation ceremony at UIT

In addition to outstanding academic achievements, Gia Tran actively participates in club activities at the university to accumulate practical experience. The young girl joined the Study Committee of the School of Information Systems to learn new things. "I got to know many talented seniors, friends who are very skilled, and learned many skills, including courage and confidence when standing in front of a crowd. The club has given me additional motivation to continue my efforts in studying at my department and UIT in general," shared Gia Tran.

In addition to her passion for technology and numbers, Gia Tran has another passion: blogging and creating content on social media platforms, especially video production. The young girl is currently starting to build several information channels related to her interests. Gia Tran hopes to learn many new things in this field because she believes that knowing more things will be useful in the future.

The top graduate offers advice to fellow students not to put too much pressure on themselves during the learning process but to maintain an optimistic and relaxed spirit. In addition to studying in class, students should spend extra time honing soft skills such as teamwork and presentation, as they will be very supportive in their future studies and work. She advises, "Always strive and have faith in what you are doing, even if the present may not yield the desired results, surely in the future, you will receive immensely valuable rewards."

Sharing her future plans, Gia Tran said, "I plan to delve deeper into Digital Marketing to meet the current job requirements. Especially, I will continue to pursue a Master's degree to equip myself with more knowledge, ready to conquer more challenging tasks."
