Successful Conclusion Of Asiin Accreditation For Four Academic Programs

From November 13-14, 2024, the ASIIN accreditation board (The Accreditation Agency for Study Programmes in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Mathematics) conducted evaluations of four academic programs at VNU-HCM University of Information Technology: the Bachelor's program in Computer Science, the Bachelor's program in Computer Networks & Data Communication, the Master's program in Computer Science, and the Master's program in Information Security. The evaluation process included various sessions and interviews with stakeholders.

The ASIIN delegation engaged in discussions with UIT’s leadership, department and functional office heads, program developers and managers, lecturers, students, alumni, postgraduate students, and corporate representatives. These sessions provided the delegation with insights into UIT’s strategic development plans, program operations, quality assurance for learners, and more.

ASIIN is a prestigious accreditation organization within the European higher education quality assurance network, headquartered in Germany. It specializes in evaluating and certifying programs in engineering, science, and technology fields. ASIIN's standards are developed through collaboration among educational institutions, businesses, and governments, ensuring that academic programs meet the rigorous demands of the labor market and adhere to high-quality training standards.

The evaluation team included experts in the accredited fields from ASIIN and European universities, along with a corporate representative and a student representative from Vietnam. This composition ensured an objective perspective from industry experts and representatives of the labor market and learners.

During the final working session on the afternoon of November 14, 2024, the ASIIN delegation provided positive assessments of the four academic programs. Additionally, they recommended several improvement activities for enhancing the programs further.
