In the afternoon of January 5th, a conference to review the enrollment activities of 2023 and set directions for 2024 was held at the VNU-HCM Headquarter. The conference was chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Tam - Vice Director of VNU-HCM.
The meeting aimed to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the 2023 enrollment work and propose an effective plan for 2024. Representatives listened to the reports presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Quoc Bang - Deputy Head of the Training Board, and Dr. Bui Thi Thu Hien - Deputy Head of the Training Board, summarizing the undergraduate and postgraduate enrollment activities in 2023 and proposing directions for 2024.
In 2024, for undergraduate enrollment, the Training Board outlined 4 tasks: Review and adjust the list of high schools prioritized for admission according to the regulations of VNU-HCM; University of Technology - VNU-HCM evaluates the effectiveness and expands the enrollment method based on combined criteria; Implement enrollment methods suitable for international students; Open and enroll in new majors with a high interdisciplinary nature to maximize the common resources of the system.
For postgraduate enrollment, the Training Board directed 5 tasks: Member universities proactively build a plan for postgraduate enrollment in 2024 and complete related procedures; Enhance promotion and consultation activities for postgraduate enrollment; Continue to diversify enrollment methods, with an increase in the method of admission; Boost recruitment through the transfer program from undergraduate to master's degree, master's to doctoral degree; Open and enroll in new majors with a high interdisciplinary nature.
