WeTalk - Sharing Space Episode 66: "Are You Labeled 'Heartless' This Tet?"

With Tet (Lunar New Year) approaching, social media is still filled with stories criticizing the younger generation for seemingly drifting away from traditional values. But is it too harsh to use the subjective perspective of the previous "offline" generation to label the younger generation as "heartless" every festive season?

"Addicted to mobile phones," "only know how to bury your face in the phone" - parents still nag about these things, from tearing out stories to growing up; we become the ones who seemingly don't care about family, forget about relatives, and don't go out to integrate into life. In the eyes of adults, the red envelopes or Tet food no longer make the eyes of the younger generation sparkle; the mobile phone may be more appealing than Chung cake or lucky money envelopes with New Year's wishes.

We have the entire year to navigate life, but only a few days to return to family. Does that mean we are indifferent to our parents? Life is always rushed, there is no time for a break, and even during Tet, we can't seem to pause for a moment.

However, not all young people are so indifferent; they have their own stories. How can we express our individual stories and reconcile tradition with personal character? To understand more about this issue, join WeTalk Episode 66 - the theme: "Are You Labeled 'Heartless' This Tet?".
