Workshop UIT Talk: AI – A Companion in University Learning
On the morning of October 17, the UIT Talk program titled “AI – A Companion in University Learning,” presented by Prof. Dr. Do Phuc, took place at the University of Information Technology (UIT). The event attracted significant attention from students eager to learn about the role of Artificial Intelligence in education.
In the digital era, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not only the technology of the future but also a vital companion for students, helping make learning more efficient and creative. Understanding AI properly and applying it intelligently enables students to learn faster, comprehend more deeply, and apply knowledge effectively in real-world contexts.

During the talk, Prof. Dr. Do Phuc—lecturer at UIT—shared engaging insights on key topics such as the concept of artificial intelligence, machine learning, technologies behind large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering techniques, and how AI supports learning, research, and entrepreneurship.
He also discussed the limitations of ChatGPT, including the “hallucination” phenomenon where AI generates inaccurate information, helping students better understand the nature of the technology and how to use AI effectively and responsibly. Tools for detecting AI-generated text were introduced as well, offering a more comprehensive view of AI’s applications in academia and daily life.

The session provided valuable knowledge for students, guiding them on how AI can assist in information retrieval, learning data analysis, teamwork, research, and personal skill development.
In the Q&A session, students raised many thought-provoking questions about AI and received insightful, open, and practical responses from the professor. Through this interaction, students not only gained a deeper understanding of artificial intelligence but also learned how to harness technology to optimize learning and foster creativity in the digital age.
At the end of the program, MSc. Nguyen Van Toan, Head of the Office of Student Affairs, presented a letter of appreciation to Prof. Dr. Do Phuc, expressing gratitude for his meaningful and inspiring contributions.
The talk concluded with enthusiastic discussions and left participants with new perspectives on the partnership between AI and education in shaping the future of learning.
