As of March 31, 2024, the VNU350 Program of VNU-HCM has received a total of 32 valid applications for participation in the program. Among these, the highest number comes from the University of Technology (HCMUT) with 6 applications; followed by the University of Science (HCMUS) and the University of Information Technology (UIT), each with 5 applications. The Faculty of Medicine received 4 applications, and An Giang University received 3 applications. According to the procedure, VNU-HCM will establish a Recruitment Council and announce the results before April 30, 2024.
In addition, to attract more young scientists and outstanding researchers, VNU-HCM has issued a policy prioritizing the approval of international collaborative research projects. Specifically, this involves the participation of scientists, especially Vietnamese scientists conducting research and teaching at overseas universities, research institutes, and enterprises. Therefore, project leaders need to provide evidence of collaboration with foreign scientists, including: (1) Evidence of past collaboration; (2) Evidence of reputation and capacity for international publication; (3) Legal commitment regarding co-authorship in international publications; (4) Commitment to visit Vietnam for teaching, research, and supervision of research students/postgraduate students for a minimum of 01 month for research and development tasks with a duration of 24 months.
