On the morning of March 6, 2024, in the lobby of Building C at the University of Information Technology (UIT), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology Youth Union - Student Union of the Information System Faculty, under the umbrella of Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross, organized the event "Voluntary Blood Donation Day XXII - Information System Faculty" for the 21st time in 2024. This event resonated with the spirit of "UIT youth actively volunteering for community life" as part of the Youth Month activities in 2024.
Under the theme "A drop of blood - a million hearts," the event aimed to spread the spirit of mutual sympathy and love within the community. This year's event attracted the participation of 573 registered blood donors, contributing 392 blood units (including 250ml and 350ml reserves). Before blood donation, all union members and students underwent health checks and received advice on their current health conditions, as well as recommendations on the appropriate amount of blood to donate. The entire donated blood was sent to various blood banks at hospitals to address blood shortages after the 2024 Lunar New Year. After donating blood, volunteers received supplements, sugar, milk, and commemorative gifts, household items, helmets, and more.
