On the morning of March 19th, a delegation from the Singapore Management University (SMU) visited and collaborated with the University of Information Technology, Viet Nam National Ho Chi Minh City University; this visit served as a precursor to future collaborations between the two institutions.
Leading the SMU delegation were Mr. Vu Viet Anh - Director of the Center, Singapore Management University in Ho Chi Minh City, and Ms. Hoang Thu Thao - Deputy Director of the Center, Singapore Management University in Ho Chi Minh City.
Welcoming the SMU delegation, representatives from UIT included Mr. Nguyen Tuan Nam - Head of the Office of International Relations; and Mr. Cao Thi Nhan - Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Information Systems.
The SMU and UIT representatives engaged in discussions and collaborative work on the morning of March 19th.
SMU is the third national university (out of six current national universities) established in Singapore. The university aims to specialize in Management and Commerce education – renowned fields in Singapore. During the meeting, SMU representatives expressed their desire to collaborate with UIT in developing joint training programs, allowing UIT students to study and work in Singapore after graduation. Additionally, SMU representatives mentioned numerous annual scholarship policies for students.
Mr. Vu Viet Anh - SMU representative proposed various directions for future collaboration.
Following preliminary discussions, representatives from Viet Nam National Ho Chi Minh City - University of Information Technology and SMU aspire to achieve the discussed goals and directions for cooperation established during the meeting, fostering a cooperative relationship for future development to provide learning and development opportunities for students.
