As a consistent recipient of academic scholarships at University of Information Technology (UIT) for many years, Bui Van Tinh officially became the Top Graduate in the Information Technology field during the recent second graduation ceremony.
Sharing his emotions upon becoming the top graduate in the Information Technology field, Tinh expressed surprise and a mix of happiness, pride, and the realization that years of effort had been rewarded with deserving results. "Actually, at first, I didn't know that I became the Top Graduate. I received an email requesting photos for the ceremony, and I thought every student received that email. It wasn't until the day before the ceremony, when friends saw their names on the list, that I realized I had become the Top Graduate."
Standing at the threshold of university, Tinh had to contemplate a lot, but his love for computer science prevailed, and he decided to choose the Information Technology field. Simultaneously, through the introduction of senior students and research on social media, Tinh discovered that Ho Chi Minh City University of Information Technology (UIT) was one of the top institutions for training in Information Technology. This was the reason the 2001-born student chose UIT as the starting point to pursue his passion for computer science.

After several years of studying at UIT, Tinh expressed that UIT is a dynamic environment where students can learn and develop. The university offers specific and well-organized training programs, with an enthusiastic team of teachers always guiding and helping students plan their studies effectively. This helped Tinh eliminate feelings of pressure or confusion during the learning process. Proudly, Tinh stated, "After graduation, when looking for a job, I can proudly say that I was a UIT student."
Not only did Tinh "hunt" scholarships from the university for several consecutive years, but he also actively participated in social activities and volunteer activities organized by the department and the university. Each volunteer period brought Tinh special emotions and unforgettable stories. The most special, perhaps, was the volunteering during the Covid-19 season: "I and my friends registered to participate in gate duty, checking temperatures, and disinfecting for students. At that time, we were on duty for about a week, and initially, it felt a bit tough, especially during the sunny noon, but later on, looking back, we felt happy and proud because we contributed to helping the university control the epidemic situation at that time. I think this is the most meaningful time for me during my time studying at UIT." - Tinh confided.
Tinh always strives to balance academic study and extracurricular activities to gain more experiences.
For Tinh, achieving impressive academic achievements requires diligence. Not only that, students also need to focus intensely on important and core knowledge to serve their studies and future work. Focusing on the core will help students save time and achieve high results in exams. In addition, the skill of finding materials is also one of Tinh's study tips: "I think you should search for materials in English if possible, then you will have more and better-quality materials. Some highly rated websites are: Stack Overflow, GitHub, ... or Vietnamese websites like Viblo.asia, ..."
Accumulating a lot of knowledge and experience during his studies at UIT, Tinh started working at BOSCH - one of the world's leading technology conglomerates - for nearly a year. Regarding the future, Tinh affirmed that he will continue to strive for learning, gaining experience from colleagues who have gone ahead to improve himself. The male student also harbors the ambition that 1 or 2 years later, he plans to pursue a master's degree, and if given the chance again, Tinh would still choose UIT.
