Invitation for Students to Attend the 19th ASEAN Youth Cultural Forum and the 9th ASEAN+3 Youth Cultural Forum in Brunei

The ASEAN Youth Cultural Forum and ASEAN+3 Youth Cultural Forum are annual events organized by the ASEAN University Network (AUN) in collaboration with its member universities on a rotating basis. The goal is to enhance friendship and cooperation among universities through a deep understanding of the cultures of ASEAN member countries and the three East Asian countries (China, Japan, South Korea).

In 2024, the University of Brunei Darussalam will host the 19th ASEAN Youth Cultural Forum and the 9th ASEAN+3 Youth Cultural Forum with the theme “Futuring Together towards Preserving Art and Culture.” The event will take place from June 23 to June 28, 2024, in Brunei.

Through key activities (including presentations, workshops, cultural performances, and field trips), the forum will bring together young artistic talents to showcase the diverse beauty of the arts and cultures of the participating countries while preserving the traditional values of the ASEAN+3 community.

Details for VNU-HCM students to participate in the forum are as follows:

  1. Number of Participants:

    • 04 students from VNU-HCM.
  2. Candidate Criteria:

    • Proficiency in communication and presentation in English;
    • Ability to perform well in one of the following: singing, dancing, or playing traditional musical instruments;
    • Strong knowledge of Vietnam's history, culture, and socio-economic context;
    • Understanding of ASEAN and Vietnam's integration process into ASEAN;
    • Knowledge of the VNU-HCM system;
    • Preference for students actively participating in cultural clubs, teams, or groups within their school or faculty.
  3. Funding:

    • The organizers will cover accommodation, domestic travel during official trips, and meals throughout the forum.
    • VNU-HCM will support common expenses of the delegation such as gifts, choreography, and rehearsal for performances.
    • The university will support: 5,500,000 VND for airfare.
    • Students are responsible for covering their participation costs: 10,000,000 VND.
  4. Application Documents:

    • Registration form (download the form at: https://bit.ly/AYCF2024);
    • A copy of the main passport page;
    • A copy of English proficiency certificate (if available).
  5. Application Submission:

    • Students should submit their application to the Student Affairs Office (A101) before 12:00 PM on May 17, 2024.
    • The Student Affairs Office will select and recommend a maximum of 02 applications to the VNU-HCM Student Affairs Department for final selection.
