The program aimed to guide appropriate teaching methods in alignment with the training strategy of VNU-HCM in general and the goals of the VNUHCM Competency Framework and Graduation Qualities (VNUHCM GAC) pilot program in particular. This training aimed to enhance the capacity of lecturers, helping students achieve VNUHCM GAC.

Additionally, the program provided a platform and created a practical environment for lecturers to apply suitable assessment methods, accurately evaluating students' attainment of VNUHCM GAC as well as the effectiveness of the teaching process. Through this training, VNUHCM aimed to build a core team of lecturers to share and disseminate teaching methods and assessment strategies to other faculty members.

The training program took place over two days with two main themes: (1) teaching and learning, and (2) assessment and evaluation of learning outcomes (course level). At the beginning of the training, Dr. Duong Ton Thai Duong, Deputy Head of the Training Department of VNUHCM, introduced the Competency Framework and Graduation Qualities Initiative of VNU-HCM and the Set of Qualities and Competencies for VNUHCM Graduates.

The training content was delivered through various formats, including theory sharing, group activities, practical exercises, and discussions. Throughout the program, lecturers were introduced to Constructive Alignment theory, education based on outcomes, and backward design. They also identified exemplary positive teaching methods that align with the Set of Qualities and Competencies for VNUHCM Graduates, sharing advantages, challenges, and lessons learned.
