Professor John F. Hurdle is about to teach in-depth Biomedical – Informatics

January 9th, 2019 - University of Information Technology (UIT) welcomed Professor John F. Hurdle from the University of Utah - the United States of America (USA) to teach UIT students in-depth knowledge in IT application in healthcare, as well as exchange training activities.

Associate Prof. Vu Duc Lung – Vice President welcomed Prof John F. Hurdle.

This is the first time that Prof. John F. Hurdle came to UIT to teach in-depth knowledge of the USA’s healthcare industry. More than 50 students of talent and advanced programs have registered for the class. Through the class, UIT students will have an opportunity to attain the world’s latest and advanced knowledge from the USA’s education. After the Tet Holiday, Prof. John F. Hurder will teach students issues such as healthcare systems and applications, biomedical informatics and applications, natural language processing.

Through the collaboration between the Fulbright Association (USA) and UIT, UIT’s leader wished that the students will have new orientation, invent new ideas as they apply IT in Vietnam's healthcare system on the purpose of improving its healthcare management system.

His teaching from 01-05/2019 is in line with the framework of the United States - Vietnam Education Cooperation. Also during this time, he wishes to learn more about Vietnam's healthcare system and its IT application in the sector.

Professor John F. Hurdle specializes in Biomedical Informatics

Prof. John F. Hurdle specializes in the field of Biomedical Informatics and Computer Science. He has been joining in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Utah - USA since 2005. Presently, he is the Dean of the Department of Biomedical Informatics. In 2007, Professor became a senior member at the National Library of Medicine. He also joined in work related to Medical Informatics, public healthcare.

Professor John F. Hurdle made his Biomedical Informatics’ presentation in a Fulbright Award in India.
