Ho Chi Minh City, September 10, 2025 – Students at the University of Information Technology (UIT) will now have the chance to develop and publish games on major platforms as part of their official curriculum. This groundbreaking initiative marks a significant step forward in training high-quality tech talent.
On September 10, UIT and VNG Corporation jointly launched the course SE116 - Applied Game Programming Skills, designed to provide students with real-world experience in game development.
This collaboration integrates the Game Development Fresher (GDF) program by ZingPlay Game Studios (ZPS) and UIT’s Software Engineering game development curriculum, allowing students to work in a professional environment at VNG Campus.
Rather than a conventional class, SE116 is a comprehensive training project that embodies the spirit of academia-industry-research collaboration. The course follows a "learning by doing" model, offering students hands-on experiences such as:
-
International-standard learning spaces
-
Real product development and official publishing opportunities
Dr. Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang, Vice President of UIT, emphasized the importance of this partnership: "The collaboration between UIT and VNG not only provides students with the opportunity to learn in a modern industrial environment but also helps realize the model of university-enterprise linkage."
He added, "Students will not only acquire knowledge but also hone practical skills, professional working styles, and product thinking – essential elements for success in the game industry."
This initiative is set to create a new benchmark in game development education, equipping students with the expertise needed to thrive in the competitive global tech landscape.
