University of Information Technology Hosts Delegation from Taiwan Tech: Promoting International Training Cooperation and Expanding Scholarship Opportunities for Students

 

On the morning of July 24, the University of Information Technology, Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh City (UIT) held a working session with a delegation from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (Taiwan Tech). The meeting aimed to discuss expanding cooperation and introduce the INTENSE international scholarship programs for students.

Taiwan Tech Delegation Visits UIT

The delegation included senior representatives from Taiwan Tech and the INTENSE Program, including Professor Chao-Lung Yang, Director of the INTENSE Program in Vietnam, Dr. Võ Đức Thắng, Assistant Professor and Co-Director of the INTENSE Program in Vietnam, Mr. Arthur, Executive Director of the INTENSE Program in Vietnam, and Ms. Lê Hoàng Quỳnh Như, Assistant to the INTENSE Program in Vietnam.

On the UIT side, the meeting was attended by Dr. Nguyễn Minh Sơn, Head of the Department of Computer Engineering, Dr. Ngô Đức Thành, Head of the Department of Computer Science, Dr. Cao Thị Nhạn, Deputy Head of the Department of Information Systems, and Mr. Đặng Việt Dũng, Lecturer at the Software Technology Department.

Taiwan Tech Delegates Introduce the INTENSE Program

During the meeting, both parties discussed key topics related to opportunities for collaboration in training, research, and developing high-quality technology human resources. They also explored the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the near future.

The INTENSE (International Industrial Talents Education Special Program) is an initiative by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education (MOE) aimed at attracting talented international students to study and work in Taiwan in key national sectors such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), Finance, and Semiconductor industries.

UIT Representatives Welcome the Delegation

Through the INTENSE program, Vietnamese students will have the opportunity to receive full or partial scholarships to study at top universities in Taiwan. During their studies, students can also gain paid internships at companies, with employment opportunities after graduation. Additionally, students will receive a one-way airfare allowance and coverage for essential administrative costs.

 

The Meeting Takes Place in a Positive Atmosphere, Fostering International Cooperation

The working session between the University of Information Technology and the Taiwan Tech delegation not only expanded the university’s international network of partners but also provided numerous opportunities for study, research, and international employment for UIT students as well as Vietnamese students in the era of globalization.
