On the morning of November 6th, at the Executive Building of the Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM), a delegation from Montgomery County, Maryland, USA, visited and held discussions with representatives from VNUHCM. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Tam - Vice Chancellor of VNUHCM, was in attendance.
Overview of the working session.
Representatives from businesses in Montgomery County, operating in the fields of biotechnology, environmental technology, etc., joined the delegation during their visit to Vietnam from November 5th to 8th. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen cooperation and promote investment opportunities in high technology between Maryland and Vietnamese government agencies.
During the working session, representatives from the member units and affiliates of VNUHCM, such as University of Technology, University of Sciences, International University, and University of Information Technology, introduced their training and research activities in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, biotechnology, and biomedical engineering. US businesses discussed potential future collaborations with VNUHCM.
Sharing with the Montgomery County delegation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Tam, Vice Chancellor of VNUHCM, mentioned that while VNUHCM has welcomed delegates from various countries worldwide, this visit marked the first time a US county delegation had come to discuss collaboration opportunities. He added that VNUHCM has been actively implementing collaborations with US partners in education and has received support from the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the World Bank.
