On June 12, 2024, in Binh Thuan, VNUHCM officially signed a cooperation agreement for the year 2024 with the People's Committee of Binh Thuan Province. The signing ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hai Quan - Chancellor of VNUHCM, and Mr. Doan Anh Dung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Thuan Province.

The cooperation plan between the two parties focuses on six major areas: (1) Collaboration in training and human resources development; (2) Collaboration in the field of education and training; (3) Collaboration in the field of science and technology; (4) Collaboration in information technology and technology transfer; (5) Collaboration in cultural activities; (6) Collaboration in the handover and transfer of dormitory A8 and visits to students in Binh Thuan province.
According to the agreement, VNUHCM and Binh Thuan province will coordinate to organize training courses on digital transformation and network security for leaders, officials, and employees of departments, sectors, and People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities in the province. Both parties will also continue to collaborate on organizing the VNUHCM Competency Assessment Exam, the Green Summer Volunteer Campaign, and admission counseling.
In 2024, the two parties will implement cooperation in research, innovation, and sustainable development education. They will organize the 10th International Conference on Biomedical Engineering (BME10). Additionally, activities related to technology transfer will be deployed, focusing on applications in remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), mapping, geographics, satellite positioning (GPS) to support state management in planning, urban management, resource management, environmental monitoring, and prevention of riverbank and coastal erosion.
