Conquering Renova Cloud of UIT Alumni

Minh Lê, a former student of the K07 class majoring in Computer Networks and Communications at the University of Information Technology, Vietnam National University, HCMC (UIT), is currently serving as the Head of Solution Architect at Renova Cloud – a major partner in Amazon's cloud computing sector.

The Journey to Conquering Renova Cloud and the Cloud Computing Industry

Sharing about his career journey, Minh Lê mentioned that after graduating from UIT, he worked for three different companies before achieving success at Renova Cloud. Thanks to the introduction and support from his university professors, he had the opportunity to work immediately after graduation at a solution integration consulting company. “I feel very fortunate because during my time at UIT, I was not only equipped with knowledge but also practical skills,” he shared.

After over two years of working, Minh Lê decided to pursue a master’s degree at Bordeaux University in France to further enrich his knowledge. Alongside this, he realized that to work at large companies, it’s essential to have solid knowledge and a deep understanding of the field. Minh Lê began expanding his expertise, not only focusing on one platform but also gaining knowledge in various areas.

After one year of postgraduate study, Minh Lê had the opportunity to join Renova Cloud, one of the pioneering companies in Vietnam’s cloud computing industry, providing solutions for many large enterprises. Minh Lê shared, “The knowledge I accumulated during my master's studies and work experience has helped me solve complex problems for the company, thereby creating value for the company and receiving recognition from my superiors. This is also an important factor that helped me advance in my career.”

Facing Challenges - Never Stop Learning

Like many others on the career-building path, Minh Lê faced many challenges. He said: “The cloud computing industry is constantly evolving, and new knowledge keeps emerging. This requires me to keep learning. When entering a new field, I always maintain an open, curious spirit and am not afraid to challenge myself.” He also advised young people to proactively turn what they have learned into real projects, not just staying at the theoretical level but proving their abilities through concrete results. “For companies, these achievements of yours are one of the best ways to make a great first impression of your capabilities.”

The Stepping Stone at UIT

Reflecting on his time at UIT, Minh Lê shared that over the years at the university, UIT was not just a place for learning knowledge but also a place that opened up opportunities for personal development and exploring new aspects of the IT field. “These courses not only helped me understand technology deeply but also trained my logical thinking, helping me solve problems quickly and effectively – skills that I later realized are crucial when entering the workforce."

Not limited to classroom learning, Minh Lê also participated in research projects at the university under the guidance of professors. “The opportunity to engage in research with professors was truly a turning point, helping me discover new directions in my career, and also an opportunity to connect with leading experts.”

When asked about advice for UIT students, he emphasized that students should invest in learning early, continually enhance their knowledge, and apply it practically through projects or obtaining professional certifications. “Being able to prove your capabilities through projects or certifications will be a big plus when applying to large companies.”

Additionally, language skills are also a significant asset that employers now require from students applying for positions in the IT industry. Minh Lê said: "Most specialized documents and certification exams required in the workplace demand English, so improving this language is essential."

The Journey to Continue the Passion

Not stopping at his current success, Minh Lê always sets new goals for the future. He not only wants to continue developing himself but also hopes to contribute more to the tech community in Vietnam. "I believe that the development journey of an individual never stops. Technology is always changing, and the key is to keep learning and progressing. I also hope that young people will always maintain a progressive spirit, dare to face challenges, and seize opportunities to assert themselves."
