On the afternoon of October 29, it was announced that the team UIT.KNS.Loveispain, consisting of three first-year students: Tran Vinh Khanh, Nguyen Thien Nhan, Nguyen Thai Son, had excellently secured a position within the top 10 of the IEEExtreme World Student Programming Competition this year. All three students are enrolled in the Computer Science Talent Program at Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City-University of Information Technology.

During the 17th IEEExtreme World Student Programming Competition held in 2023, participating teams had to complete online programming tasks continuously for 24 hours, from 7 a.m. on October 28 to 7 a.m. on October 29. Throughout the day, the teams solved a total of 26 programming problems. The competition problems were released periodically, with approximately two hours between each release. In case of tie scores, the award was given to the team with the fastest solving time.
This year, the competition brought together over 7,000 participating teams with more than 16,000 contestants from over 60 countries. The first-place team received a sponsorship of 10,000 USD to attend any international scientific conference worldwide.
Competitions like IEEExtreme provide high-experience challenges for students to enhance their skills and logical thinking. To promote a spirit of learning and provide valuable experiences for students, the university and professors always create the best conditions for talented individuals.

In 2022, UIT's team ranked 16th globally and entered the top 1% of the strongest teams in the international programming competition IEEXtreme. This year, with their outstanding performance, UIT.KNS.Loveispain team has become one of the top 10 teams in the competition.
This achievement reflects UIT's continuous success in this competition. It is the result of the relentless efforts of the students combined with the university's training and admission policies.
IEEEXtreme is an annual competition organized by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the world's largest professional organization for electrical and electronics engineers. The competition focuses on electrical and electronics engineering, telecommunications, computer engineering, and related fields.
Recently, the UIT.KNS.Loveispain team also won the first prize in the ICPC 2023 Southern Region Competition and is preparing for the national round scheduled for November 5, 2023.
