The AI Challenge 2023, organized by the Department of Information and Communications, aimed to explore and showcase artificial intelligence talents among young people. It sought innovative AI solutions to help the city address investment, development, and the construction of smart urban areas. To qualify for the finals, participants competed for over three months, attracting more than 1,542 applicants from 340 teams representing 70 organizations and individual participants. After the preliminary rounds, 44 promising teams were selected by the judges to advance to the grand finals, held on October 8 at HCMUTE.
During the grand finals, contestants utilized AI software and tools developed by their own teams to solve image query problems in the provided dataset. The organizers required teams to handle Know-Item Search queries (pre-described object search) in both textual and image/video formats. The online submission and scoring system employed was DRES (Distributed Retrieval Evaluation Server), following international standards.
Additionally, two teams announced their scientific papers, which will be presented at the 2023 SOICT international conference in Ho Chi Minh City in November.
Congratulations to the two teams on your achievements!
