UIT - Nurturing Dreams in Technology through Quality Seed Recruitment Policies

As a proud member of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), the University of Information Technology (UIT) is steadfast in its mission to "train and develop comprehensive, socially responsible, leadership-capable, and entrepreneurial-minded talents." The university operates based on four models: self-creation and resource exploration, monitoring personal development orientation, strengthening the bond between parents and the institution, acknowledging and honoring outstanding achievements, and communication and image building for sustained recognition.

In particular, in 2023, UIT attracted a Gold Medalist from the 17th Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad, six National Second Prizes, eleven National Third Prizes, and twelve Encouragement Prizes. These achievements bear witness to the right steps taken and the journey towards the narrative of "University of Information Technology - a university of knowledge and youth, where technology dreams flourish."

UIT has developed and implemented various activities to create and seek talented students who excel at the national and international levels, particularly in foreign languages and scientific and technical competitions. Through the Student Ambassador program, the university organizes career counseling activities, fostering strong collaborations with key high schools and close partnerships with coaches of national teams to timely identify quality seeds. The university is ready to support resources for teams participating in competitions when necessary, emphasizing the socialization of activities. Additionally, UIT has separated the high school system to provide more targeted and specific counseling strategies tailored to different student groups.

Activities for IT Enthusiast Students

Furthermore, UIT regularly organizes algorithm and programming-related activities for high school students, such as the UIT Algo Bootcamp and the UIT Code Contest, providing opportunities to learn and enhance skills in the field of Information Technology such as:

  • UIT Algo Bootcamp - Algorithm Training Camp: Since 2021, UIT has successfully organized six iterations of the UIT Algo Bootcamp, attracting the active participation of over 800 High School Students (HSSV) from all corners of the country.
  • UIT Code Contest - High School Programming Competition: Commencing in 2021, the UIT Code Contest has become a hallmark initiative with over 200 weekly coding competitions tailored for high school students

Events like the Bootcamp Gala and Student Ambassadors bridge the gap between former team members and high school students, contributing additional resources to the university.

UIT prioritizes building its image, investing in infrastructure, teaching staff, coaches, laboratories, and research groups. Through these resources, students continue to affirm their value and unleash their potential. The utilization of the expertise of leading professors and doctors in training and nurturing excellent students is maximized by UIT.The university has implemented the comprehensive scholarship policy "Comprehensive - Creative - Service" to attract excellent resources, especially those who are directly admitted or given priority admission to the university, notably those who have achieved international and national awards in various exams.

The school also monitors students who achieve high honors, understands the aspirations of families, and takes note of students' directions. This approach allows for an enhanced process of care, monitoring, and support to be implemented more effectively for the students.

UIT has a range of support policies for students, including financial aid, academic support, and living assistance. Notable scholarships include the UIT Honors Challenge Award, UIT Advance Scholarship, and UIT Global Scholarship. The school reinforces its efforts to honor and commend students as a recognition of the achievements and values they bring. Simultaneously, this initiative aims to generate motivation and create inspirational stories showcasing the image of students as "Comprehensive - Creative - Service-oriented" individuals.

The school consistently provides conditions and fosters a sustainable environment for students to tackle even greater challenges, such as international competitions and outstanding research projects. This approach aims to affirm their self-worth, gain valuable experiences, and acquire additional knowledge and new skills.

Furthermore, the school places a strong emphasis on honoring the achievements of students, including those who excel in academic competitions at both national and international levels, engage in scientific research, achieve valedictorian status, and demonstrate excellence in various aspects as recognized by multiple social media platforms. This not only brings joy to the students but also spreads positive values to society and serves the community. Once again, this opens up opportunities to seek new resources and attract high-quality and talented students.

The fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education towards holistic education remains the highest goal for the University of Information Technology (UIT) specifically and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) in general. However, fostering sharp-edged education, exemplified by the quality of students achieving national and international awards, continues to be a significant benchmark for elevating the development of the education system and socio-economic progress. On the other hand, the identification, training, and nurturing of talents are imperative and must be carried out comprehensively.

With a strategy focused on seeking, supporting, nurturing, developing, and disseminating high-quality "seeds," the University of Information Technology has achieved encouraging results in attracting talents. Simultaneously, it has cultivated values, enhanced its position, and expanded the inspirational narrative for society—a story about UIT, a place nurturing dreams in information technology and communication.
