On the afternoon of July 9th, a delegation from Singapore Management University (SMU) visited and worked with University of Information Technology (UIT), VNU-HCM. This meeting aimed to discuss and explore training programs, scholarships, and cooperation opportunities between the two institutions.

Attending the meeting from SMU were Professor Michelle Cheong, Deputy Dean of the School of Computing and Information Systems; Dr. Yeo Lip Pin, Deputy Director of the School of Computing and Information Systems; and Ms. Hoang Thu Thao, Deputy Director of the SMU Center in Ho Chi Minh City.
Receiving the SMU delegation, UIT was represented by Dr. Cao Thi Nhan, Deputy Head and Acting Head of the Information Systems Faculty; and Dr. Duong Ngoc Hao, Deputy Head of the Graduate and Science & Technology Department.

The meeting began with UIT representatives sharing the university's achievements and development directions in information technology and computer science, as well as the current training programs offered.

During the meeting, SMU representatives expressed a desire to collaborate deeply with UIT, particularly the Information Systems Faculty, to create opportunities and favorable conditions for UIT students to study in Singapore and gain various job opportunities after graduation. Additionally, they emphasized the postgraduate Master's program in IT in Business and the scholarship policies available to students, such as the Vingroup full scholarship, ASEAN scholarship, and other SMU scholarships. These favorable policies open up numerous opportunities for UIT students to study and research at SMU while gaining the necessary experience and skills for their future careers.
Both Sides Expect Effective Cooperation, Bringing Benefits and Development Opportunities for Students
The meeting concluded in a friendly and cooperative atmosphere, with representatives from SMU and UIT expressing a desire to continue maintaining and organizing similar meetings in the future to create more opportunities for students and faculty from both universities.
SMU is the third national university (out of the six national universities currently) in Singapore and is regarded as a leading university in Asia, known for its distinctive technology and teaching methods. The university was established with the goal of specialized training in management and commerce, one of the renowned fields of education in Singapore.
