June 2nd, 2019 - University of Information Technology (UIT) announces that its two student teams have ranked the First and the Third Prizes at the "Vietnam Smart Energy Hackathon 2019" Contest.
The "Vietnam Smart Energy Hackathon 2019" Contest created an opportunity for the appearance of innovation and practicality in using smart energy. 2 UIT’s teams convinced the judges of the value of their outstanding products when applying to life. The prizes went to:
- First place: "RF Energy Harvesting for Wireless IoT Small Devices" by UIT-CE; and
- Third place: "SolarHub - Solar Battery Trading Floor" by StateOfArt.
The “Vietnam Smart Energy Hackathon 2019” (01/6/2019 - 02/6/2019) was hosted by the New Energy Nexus Southeast Asia and the Saigon Hi-tech Park Incubation Center, in partnership with BKHCM Technology Business Incubation Center. The Contest was organized at the VNUHCM-University of Technology.
The Contest was set with criteria: passion for technology, capable of programming and designing products, desire to develop products, work under pressure in challenging projects, have business ideas of solution involving energy in mind. Among the 24 teams which came from universities and industries in related fields to be at the Contest, UIT took up 2 teams: UIT-CE (from the Computer Engineering Faculty) and StateOfArt (from the Software Engineering Technology Faculty).
The "Vietnam Smart Energy Hackathon 2019" was organized to accelerate and provide startups a path to apply their projects of smart energy and in order to tackle problems in life. At the Contest, the teams applied natural sources of energy such as solar, wind, biomass, etc. to build projects: smart houses, smart power grids, smart light controller systems, etc.
This latest achievement strongly proved UIT’s students competence in innovation, applying their knowledge at UIT to projects, scientific researches especially in this Revolution 4.0 era.
