University of Information Technology Welcomes the Delegation from Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City for Visit and Collaboration

On the afternoon of January 24, the delegation from Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) had a visit and working session at the University of Information Technology (UIT) to review the activities of the year 2023 and discuss plans for the year 2024.

Participating in the working session from VNU-HCM were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hai Quan - Chancellor of HCMC NU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Tam - Vice Chancellor of VNU-HCM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Thanh Phong - President  of the University of Technology, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Thi Phuong Lan - President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Cao Vinh - Chairman of the University Council of the University of Natural Sciences, and leaders of VNU-HCM departments.

On the side of the University of Information Technology, the meeting was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Lung - Chairman of the University Council, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Tu Anh - President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Luu Thuy Ngan - Vice President, Dr. Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang - Vice President, and leaders of faculties/departments.Assoc. As part of the working session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Tu Anh reported on the achievements of the University of Information Technology (UIT) in 2023 and outlined the activities planned for 2024. Members of the VNU-HCM delegation highly praised UIT's accomplishments, especially in enrollment activities and student affairs. Additionally, the delegation provided valuable insights on financial autonomy, enhancing e-learning, increasing the number of research papers, and advancing scientific and technological research projects.

During the session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hai Quan emphasized that one of UIT's strategic tasks for 2024 is to upgrade the Network Security Center under the University to become directly under VNU-HCM, developing a strategy to transform the Network Security Center into a national-level center to address cybersecurity tasks. This initiative aligns with the university's commitment to social service.

Representatives from the University of Information Technology expressed gratitude for the feedback and suggestions from the VNU-HCM delegation. The university hopes to continue receiving support from other institutions and departments to effectively implement the outlined plans.

At the end of the working session, the VNU-HCM delegation visited and took photos in the Spring Campus area of the university.
