On the evening of October 27, at the Consulate General of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland in Ho Chi Minh City, the signing ceremony for the cooperation between the University of Information Technology (UIT) and the Christina Noble Children's Foundation (CNCF) took place. This event was part of the introduction of the Christina Noble Education Program. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Tam, Vice Director of UIT, attended the event.
During the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Tam and Ms. Helenita Noble signed a memorandum of understanding for collaboration.
The signing ceremony marked the establishment of a collaborative relationship between UIT and CNCF in the development of education and community service. The collaboration includes various initiatives such as full scholarships for students facing special difficulties, excellence scholarships, essential soft skills training courses for students, and competitions to promote students' community development initiatives.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Tam emphasized, "With the similarity in the aspiration to pursue the mission of serving education, community engagement, I hope UIT and CNCF will together implement many specific collaborative activities, contributing practically to education."
Ms. Helenita Noble, the global CEO of CNCF, stated that the goal of the Christina Noble Education Program is to empower young people to positively impact society and break the cycle of poverty through four main activities: Scholarships, Skills Training, Internship Opportunities, and Mentorship.
"The program is honored to accompany UIT in supporting students in their learning process, creating opportunities for them to have good job prospects in the future," said the CEO.
During the event, CNCF awarded 60 scholarships to final-year students at UIT, with a total scholarship value of over 1 billion VND. In addition to receiving scholarships worth 16.8 million VND each, students will also participate in a free 3-month soft skills training course, and CNCF will introduce internship opportunities at reputable companies after completing the course.
The Christina Noble Children's Foundation (CNCF) is a non-governmental organization founded by Christina Noble in 1989, focusing on education and community development in Vietnam and Mongolia.
Throughout its 34 years of operation, CNCF has implemented nearly 170 projects providing humanitarian services in education, health care, and community development for vulnerable children and poor rural communities. To date, these projects have supported more than 900,000 children and positively impacted the lives of over 1 million children and adults.
