On the afternoon of December 16, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) organized a program to meet and commend students who won Olympic and international science and technology awards in 2023.
Tran Vinh Khanh, a student of the Gifted Program class of 2023 at the University of Information Technology, won the silver medal at the 17th Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad in 2023 and was also honored at the program. It is noted that Tran Vinh Khanh, the young man who won the silver medal at the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad in 2023, is the only new student at the University of Information Technology (VNUHCM) to receive a scholarship worth 500 million VND and 24 million VND for 4 years of residence at the National University's Dormitory in Ho Chi Minh City.
This annual program aims to honor and commend the achievements that students have achieved in international science and technology competitions. Vietnam sent 7 student delegations with 36 participants, including 1 delegation in Informatics participating in the Asia-Pacific Regional Olympiad, 1 Physics delegation participating in the Asia-Pacific Olympiad, and 5 delegations participating in international Olympiads in Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Informatics. Specifically, at the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad: The Vietnamese team with 6 participants all won medals, including 4 Silver medals and 2 Bronze medals.
